Cotigaon Wildlife Sanctuary...

50 km from Margao, in the south, is the lesser known wildlife sanctuary of Cotigaon, spread over 85sqkm, it boasts of some virgin forest, and wild animals like, the leopards, black panthers, sloth bears, spotted deer, gaur, giant squirrels... though as in the case of any sanctuary.. you need plenty of luck and patience to actually spot anything... but this place is worth an overnight stay, if you can spare the time..
contact the Forest office to book the only available cotttage at 0832-2639265.

Nice to come across someone who enjoys the kind of stuff that we do. You got it sopt on when you say that no pic can capture the beauty that the eye sees.. ( does not help that none in our group has an SLR camera, all my snaps are normally from a cannon digital camera or even my mobile camera). We however do most our road trips centered around goa... if you are from around here or down here, any lover of the outdoors is always welcome.... or for the matter if u want info on how to get to some place etc... just ask.
